The celebration of Fiddlehead's second grand opening anniversary occurred Saturday January 30, 2010. The store had a record number of patrons and sales. Free scones and coffee were available for all artist's displaying in the Hygienic show and birthday cake and lemonade were available for all. Musical entertainment was provided by the group Maggieʼs Guitar and the Connecticut College Accapella Singers, while children and adults participated in craft activities.


At a 9/25/09 free Pancake Breakfast Fiddleheads hosted for downtown New London Residents, Students, and Workers, ESL Students and New London Residents enjoy pancakes, coffee, and juice.

A Big Thank You goes out to the Hygienic Crew and the Bean and Leaf Staff for a successful fund raiser "Hoot". Particular thanks to the Participating Bands and Performers, Sherry and Jim Stidfole, Hugh Birdsall, and Hugh Griffin for making this a wonderful and fun event for all. And we know now we will all have to keep up on any further developments regarding Paul Brockett's beard.

In June of 2008 Fiddleheads received a major donation of coolers, freezers, shelves, and other equipment from a Natural Food store in Ridgefield CT. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Gretchen Dugan who arranged the donation, and Ken Hansen, Jim Stidfole, Andy Durr, Ned Ruete, Dick Spindler-Virgin, Kathy Spindler-Virgin, Paul Schaffer, Chris Marquette, Bob Bunting, Sheila Herbert, Kristin DeMuzzio, Ed DeMuzzio, and Ellen Anthony who provided the vehicles and labor to move it to 13 Broad Street.
Fiddleheads first Art Show is in May of 2008 featuring children’s art.

Pancakes are made, syrup is poured, music arrives, people eat. On Saturday May 10th Fiddleheads held it’s second Pancake Breakfast, this one just in time for Mother’s Day. A big thank you goes out to the vendors that supplied the basics and everyone who helped out working.

Saturday April 5, 2008 Fiddleheads hosted a Pancake and Sausage Breakfast at the Spring Farmers Market from 8:00 a.m to 11:00 a.m. Good pancakes and sausage were eaten by all. We would like to thank Bob's Red Mill for donations of their natural pancake mix, Highland Thistle for the donation of sausage, and 18th Century Purity Farms, Sugar Maple Farms, Stonewall Apiary, and Sugar Maple Farm for the donation of pancake toppings. All the above are vendors at the Spring Market except Bob's Red Mill, whose products can be found in our mini-market.
On Groundhog Day 2008 Fiddleheads opened the doors to our Winter Farmers Market. Twenty-eight vendors and three musical entertainment acts were present at our future store site (3 Broad St. New London) from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for a very successful market, where several vendors actually sold out of goods prior to 2:00. The Day newspaper used this event as it’s local section cover story on 2/3/08. We would like to thank Sheila Herbert, Paul Schaffer, Ed DeMuzzio, and Kristina Quarto for their extract efforts in ensuring the success of this event. The Winter Farmers Market will continue every Saturday through the end of April.

On Saturday September 29th Fiddleheads held a Special Membership Meeting followed by the unveiling of our new store site sign and the kick-off of our "Open the Doors" campaign to get resources in place and finish the store preparation for opening. We wish to thank the Hygienic, Sign-O-Rama, Equal Exchange, You Take Cake, Bernie Laizar and Country Corners Farm, WCNI, Urban Eden Soap, Bob Stuller, Bob and Carol Bunting, Annie Van Dyke and Family, Rob Simmons for that rousing introductory speech, and finally Jae Bouchard for driving home the need to get a real Fiddleheads sign on the store.
